Planning Ramadan social media content: a week-by-week plan for Egyptian brands

How to prepare Ramadan content a month ahead, post around iftar and suhoor, and handle the last ten nights and Eid. A practical plan with ready-to-use templates.

Published 8 min read

Ramadan is the biggest marketing season in Egypt. People watch more, buy more and engage at completely different times from the rest of the year. The brands that win are the ones that plan early — not the ones that wake up on the first day of Ramadan looking for a post idea.

This guide splits Ramadan into phases, each with a goal, content types and suitable posting times.

Four weeks before Ramadan: preparation

This is where most of the real work happens:

  • Define your goal: sales? Brand awareness? A charity campaign? The goal shapes everything else.
  • Write 3–4 themes for the month, such as Ramadan gatherings, family time, giving and sharing, and Eid preparations.
  • Shoot early. Production during Ramadan is hard: team schedules change and fasting lowers energy.
  • Build a caption bank. Use Posty’s AI assistant to draft Egyptian-Arabic versions for each theme, then review and edit them by hand.
  • Schedule at least the first two weeks before the first day of fasting.

Posting times during Ramadan

The daily rhythm flips and the peaks move:

Window Audience behaviour Suitable content
Morning to midday Lower activity — sleeping or at work Light content, reminders
Afternoon to sunset Preparing iftar, quick browsing Recipes, delivery offers, iftar countdowns
Iftar Avoid posting —
After iftar until 11pm TV series and heavy browsing Entertainment, contests, Reels
11pm to suhoor Late nights, outings and shopping Offers, interactive content, lives

Tip: sunset times shift every day during Ramadan. Instead of memorising fixed hours, think “one hour before iftar” and “two hours after iftar,” and update your Posty queue slots weekly to follow the prayer times.

Phase 1: the first ten days — welcome and togetherness

People are excited and relaxed. Focus on:

  • “Ramadan Kareem” posts in your brand’s own visual identity, not a generic template.
  • Content about gatherings, iftar invitations and daily rituals.
  • If you sell food or drinks: recipes featuring your product.
  • A simple daily contest (a question or a guess) that builds the habit of coming back every day.

Phase 2: days 11–20 — engagement and value

Excitement fades and fatigue sets in. Refresh your approach:

  • Ride trends carefully: popular series and ads create shared moments. Use them thoughtfully and without infringing copyright.
  • User-generated content: ask your audience to share their iftar table or family moments with your product.
  • Charity content if it genuinely fits your brand — audiences spot opportunism quickly.

Phase 3: the last ten nights — spirituality and offers

  • Tone down overtly commercial messaging and focus on meaning.
  • At the same time this is peak Eid shopping: clothes, gifts and sweets. Launch Eid offers at the start of the last ten nights, not the final two days.
  • Emphasise on-time delivery — customers’ biggest worry before Eid.

Eid: celebration and gratitude

  • Prepare and schedule your Eid greeting in advance — nobody wants to work on Eid morning.
  • Post a thank-you to your audience for the month, with contest results if you ran any.
  • Start preparing post-Eid content so engagement doesn’t fall off a cliff.
